Praying together

As a school we recognise the value and importance of offering a variety of opportunities for members of our community to explore prayer in a safe and creative way.

Prayer Meetings

Once every half term we meet on a Monday evening at 7.30 pm in the school library to pray for the life of the school.  All are welcome: staff, parents, grandparents, school governors, students, members of local church communities – all who would like to join us in lifting our whole school community up in prayer. We vary the format, using different prompts or reflections and sometimes prayer walking round the school – meetings are informal and always uplifting!

Do come – dates are available on the school calendar and on our Facebook page.

In addition, a small group meets monthly on Monday morning at 11am to pray for the school. All are welcome to come, for dates & location please check our Facebook page.

Prayer Space

Every Monday lunchtime, students have the opportunity to use the Beacon room B at lunchtime to relax, reflect, pray and to be prayed for by one of the prayer team. The room is set up with interactive activities (prayer stations) to encourage reflection and connection with God. Our hope and prayer is that it provides a regular oasis in busy lives to take time out to be refreshed in God’s presence.

 Annual Prayer Space

For a full week each academic year we set up a prayer space in school which allows an extended opportunity for staff and students to reflect and pray. The room is set out with prayer stations which engage the senses and stimulate reflection. Some of the students have timetabled sessions in the prayer space and all are welcome to come in at lunchtimes (and staff before school starts.) The space allows visitors the gift of space to think and to explore faith, spirituality and life’s big questions in a creative way.  We also pray it provides an opportunity to meet with God.

Staff Prayer Meetings

Staff have the option to pray together to support and encourage one another on a fortnightly basis before school at 8.15am in Beacon Room B on the Friday of Week Two. Here we pray for school events, meetings and trips and for individual concerns, with the focus that where two or three gather in His name, God is in the midst and He is able to do more than we could hope or imagine.
