Absence reporting
Please notify the school [before 9.00am] by phone 01344 421233, select option 1, which will put you through to the absence answerphone and you will not be able to speak to a member of staff. Please leave a message giving child’s name, form, reason for absence and your name.
If we do not have a reason for a pupil’s absence a member of the office staff will contact home.
You will also need to notify the school on each subsequent morning of absence.
A completed notification of absence form detailing the reason for absence must be provided for the attendance officer on the day your child returns to school.
It is important that pupil’s who have diarrhoea or vomiting should not return to school until 48 hours after the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting.
Medical appointments
Where it is not possible for an appointment to be made outside school hours, please email attendance@ranelagh.bonitas.org.uk with the appointment time, date and type of appointment (eg, dental, doctor, hospital, physio).
Please ask your child to sign out at reception and to sign in if returning to school.
Music exams

Exceptional circumstances
Parents or carers with whom the child normally resides, must request leave as far in advance as possible, giving at least 10 school days notice, by completing the school’s ‘request for leave of absence’ form. Leave of Absence request form
Any absence during term time has a detrimental effect on learning and maintaining friendships.
Punctuality
The school day begins at 8.50am and all students are expected to be in school by this time. A student will receive a late mark ‘L’ if they are not in the classroom at 8.50am when the registers are taken.
Any student arriving late should report to Reception to sign in on the Late Arrivals sheet.
