Absence reporting

Please notify the school [before 9.00am] by phone 01344 421233, select option 1, which will put you through to the absence answerphone and you will not be able to speak to a member of staff. Please leave a message giving child’s name, form, reason for absence and your name.

If we do not have a reason for a pupil’s absence a member of the office staff will contact home.

You will also need to notify the school on each subsequent morning of absence.

A completed notification of absence form detailing the reason for absence must be provided for the attendance officer on the day your child returns to school.

Any absence during term time has a detrimental effect on learning and maintaining friendships.

The school day begins at 8.50am and all students are expected to be in school by this time. A student will receive a late mark ‘L’ if they are not in the classroom at 8.50am when the registers are taken.

Any student arriving late should report to Reception to sign in on the Late Arrivals sheet.

The table below demonstrates the impact of absence in terms of days, weeks and even lessons.
