Duke of Edinburgh's Award at Ranelagh School
Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at Ranelagh School
Challenge Yourself. Serve Others. Discover More.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is one of the UK's most respected youth achievement programmes, providing students with opportunities to develop independence, resilience, leadership and confidence through a personalised programme of activities and adventure. It is highly regarded by employers, colleges and universities and is open to all young people, regardless of ability or previous experience.
At Ranelagh School, we are proud to offer students the opportunity to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and challenge themselves beyond the classroom whilst developing skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Why Take Part?
DofE is a non-competitive programme that encourages students to discover new talents, make a positive contribution to their community and develop valuable life skills. Through participation, students often develop:
- Self-confidence and self-belief
- Leadership and teamwork skills
- Organisation and time management
- Resilience and determination
- Problem-solving and communication skills
- A stronger sense of responsibility and independence
- New friendships and experiences
Many students describe DofE as one of the most rewarding experiences of their school career. The skills and experiences gained are recognised and valued by employers, universities and apprenticeship providers.
